If you are interested in learning more about Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement (BHRT), this is a great opportunity. These hormones have the exact chemical structure as those produced in the human body. The body recognizes them and allows them to mimic the function of the hormones the body produces on its own. They utilize existing metabolic pathways for elimination. Bio-Identical Hormones include pregnenolone, estradiol, estriol, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA (prasterone). Several commercial products available contain bio-identical hormones. Examples are estradiol transdermal patches, DHEA vaginal suppositories, oral progesterone immediate release capsules and testosterone intramuscular injections. If needed, these hormones can also be compounded into more individualized doses, dosage forms and combinations for a specific patients.
